Herewith the Caring Vets from The Netherlands declare that we fully support the report on “Killing or slaughter of animals without prior stunning. Exceptions to European legislation on Animal Welfare“ as Avatma has produced.
We support the position of the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) which includes the Royal Dutch Society for Veterinary Science (KNMVD) and we consider the existence of these exceptions to be totally inacceptable, as the welfare and the protection of animals should always come before any consideration of a cultural, traditional, economic or religious nature.
